Certifications and renewals
Issue certificates on completion, set validity periods, and re-certify people automatically before they expire.
Certifications prove that someone met a requirement, such as passing a safety assessment or completing annual compliance training, and keep proving it over time.
How certifications work
| Setting | Example |
|---|---|
| Requirement | Pass the final assessment with 80% or more |
| Validity | 12 months from the date earned |
| Renewal | Re-enroll 30 days before expiry, in the refresher path |
| Certificate | Branded PDF with name, date earned, content version, and expiry |
Create a certification
Define the requirement
Choose the course, path, or assessment that earns the certification.
Set validity and renewal
Choose how long the certification lasts and what renewal requires. Renewal can use a shorter refresher instead of the full course.
Design the certificate
Certificates use your branding. Include whatever your auditors need, such as the content version and an expiry date.
Assign it
Use an enrollment rule so everyone who needs the certification gets it, including future hires.
Renewals on autopilot
Ahead of expiry, Nucleus OS re-enrolls the person, reminds them, and escalates to their manager if a renewal is at risk. Nobody has to track expiry dates in a spreadsheet.
When content changes
If a certified course changes materially (for example a new regulation), you can require re-certification for everyone who certified on the old version. Records stay version-aware, so you can show who certified on which version.
Viewing certificates
- Learners see their certificates and expiry dates in their profile and can download PDFs.
- Managers see certification status for their team.
- Admins can export all certifications for an audit. See Compliance reporting.
