HRIS sync
Keep people, teams, managers, and custom attributes in sync with your HR system to power enrollment rules and reporting.
Connecting your HR information system (HRIS) means Nucleus OS always knows who works where, who reports to whom, and when people join, move, or leave. That data drives enrollment rules, manager visibility, and reporting.
Supported systems
Native connectors are available for SAP SuccessFactors, HiBob, Personio, BambooHR, Gusto, ADP, and Paychex. Any other system can sync through SCIM, CSV, or the API. See HRIS connectors for setup per system.
What syncs
| Data | Used for |
|---|---|
| Name, work email, employee ID | Identity and matching to sign-in accounts |
| Department, team, location, job title | Enrollment rules and report filters |
| Manager | Manager visibility and escalations |
| Start date, employment status | Onboarding due dates, joiner and leaver flows |
| Custom fields | Any rule you need, such as license type or shift |
Set up a sync
Connect
Open Connectors, choose your HR system, and authorize the connection with an HR admin account.
Map fields
Map HR fields to Nucleus OS attributes. Standard fields are mapped automatically; add custom fields you want to use in rules.
Match existing users
People already in Nucleus OS are matched by work email or employee ID. Review unmatched records before the first full sync.
Run and schedule
Run the first sync, review the summary (created, updated, deactivated), then leave it on a schedule.
Sync only what you need
Do not sync sensitive HR fields such as salary or health data. Map only the attributes you use for enrollment and reporting.
HRIS, SCIM, or both?
- SCIM from your identity provider controls access: who can sign in.
- HRIS sync provides context: team, manager, location, start date.
Many organizations use both: SCIM for provisioning and deprovisioning, and HRIS sync for the attributes behind enrollment rules. See SCIM.
Troubleshooting
- A new hire was not enrolled. Check that their record has the attributes the rule expects (for example a department value), and that the last sync succeeded.
- Duplicate people. Usually a personal email in one system and a work email in another. Standardize on work email or employee ID for matching.
