    Learning paths

Combine courses, live sessions, practice, and assessments into paths that adapt to what each learner already knows.

A learning path is an ordered program of activities with a goal, such as "ready to take customer calls" or "certified on the new safety procedure". Paths combine courses, live sessions, practice, external content, and assessments.

    Adaptive by default

    Paths adjust to each learner:

    Diagnose

A short adaptive check finds what the learner already knows, so nobody sits through content they have mastered.

    Learn and practice

Lessons, tutor conversations, and role-play adapt to the learner's answers and confidence. Nucleus OS tracks mastery per concept and sequences the next activity to close the biggest gap first.

    Prove mastery

Assessments confirm the skill, not just completion. After the path, refreshers are scheduled when knowledge starts to fade.

    Building a path

    Step typeExample
    Course"Refund policy essentials"
Live sessionA cohort workshop in the virtual classroom
PracticeA refund role-play scored against a rubric
External contentA licensed course from LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, or another library
AssessmentThe final check that gates a certification
Milestone"Shadow two calls with your buddy", confirmed by the manager

You can make steps required or optional, set an order or let learners choose, and unlock steps by date or by completing earlier ones.

    Let adaptivity do the work

Avoid building separate beginner and advanced paths for the same goal. One adaptive path with a diagnostic serves both: experienced people test out of what they know.

    Assigning paths

Assign paths with enrollment rules based on role, team, location, start date, or any HR attribute. Learners can also browse and self-enroll in paths you mark as open.

    Due dates

Paths can have an overall due date and step-level due dates, fixed or relative to enrollment or start date. See Scheduling and reminders.
